ASENSING, a leader in high-precision positioning solutions, showcased its latest MEMS Chip, the MotionTrack-series GST 80, at its first global exhibition, the ADAS & Autonomous Vehicle Technology Expo Europe, from June 4-6 in Stuttgart, Germany.
The GST 80, with a compact size of only 7x7mm, boasts high integration and performance. It provides ASENSING's OEM partners with an ideal motion sensor option, the company said.
The GST 80 is the first MEMS Chip in the high-precision positioning sector to incorporate a Micro Control Unit (MCU). It also integrates RAM, e-flash, and a safety controller.
Equipped with a 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer, each GST 80 serves as a 6-axis motion sensor, capable of outputting the angular rates of pitch, roll, and yaw of the carrier in real time. Its ultra-small size makes it suitable for integration into Inertial Measurement Units (IMU) modules in single or multiple pieces.
An ASENSING spokesperson stated, "These features give our OEM partners more flexibility with the GST 80. Based on our decade-long experience in developing high-precision positioning sensors, ASENSING offers multiple options as a supplier. They can install the GST 80 as a standalone motion sensor on a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) to save space and cost. Alternatively, they can opt for our IMU modules, which are protected by stainless steel boxes for enhanced reliability."
Founded in 2014 and headquartered in Guangzhou, southern China, ASENSING is a leader in MEMS sensors and high-precision positioning solutions for autonomous driving.
The company has delivered over 1 million units of high-precision positioning systems, claiming a market share of over 65% in China, according to GGII, a Chinese think tank.
In addition to the GST 80 chips, ASENSING presented its full range of positioning sensors, including GNSS and IMU modules, as well as integrated navigation systems, or P-Boxes.
ASENSING has nominations for more than 30 OEMs from both China and abroad, including well-known brands such as Volkswagen, Toyota, Volvo, and emerging NEV manufacturers like BYD, Li Auto, Nio, and XPeng, as per public information.
